    Green Tea Types

    Green tea originates from China and is widely associated with many Asian cultures, from Japan to the Middle East. More recently the popularity of green tea has spread much further and it is now enjoyed by people all over the world.

    You will find people in the West sipping on some while they work or as they play about at party bets or after a meal. With so many varieties available people are able to find one that really appeals to them.

    It is not just the refreshing taste of green tea that draws people to it. It has been suggested that there are health benefits to drinking it.

    Some research has shown that those who drink green tea on a regular basis have less chance of getting a heart disease or certain types of cancer.

    People also believe that green tea can aid weight loss, it does contain polyphenols and caffeine which induces thermogenesis and stimulates fat oxidation, so there may be some truth in this.

    As mentioned earlier there are numerous green tea types, but we'll focus here on Chinese and Japanese green tea.

    Chinese white tea is usually considered a subclass of green tea.

    It's slightly fermented with a body covered with fluffy white hair.

    It's typically harvested in the cold of earliest spring when tea bushes have shed their protective scales on the tips of their branches.

    White Green tea is picked before the buds open while the buds still have the white fuzz on them.
